Luxury brand consultant, content developer, fashion, beauty and travel blogger, Stephanie Waxberg of The Style Memo has made quarantine just as lust worthy as her regular trips to her favourite island, Ibiza. We interviewed Stephanie on how she is managing to keep up with self care in quarantine and what she is looking forward to after lockdown. She also lets us in on her skincare and beauty tips!
Describe your morning routine and has it changed during isolation?
I have to admit I’m not much of a morning person so I start the day with a shower to wake myself up and I love to use Guerlain Aqua Allegoria shower gel which has such a lovely bright fragrance. I try to do a quick stretch and deep breaths each morning and then I take some vitamins with breakfast and start to check my emails.
What would your perfect day look like after lockdown?
It would definitely be warm and sunny. If I was in London I’d take a long walk along the river and meet friends for lunch at The River Cafe, or ideally I’d be in Ibiza, out on the water on a boat and then head to one of my favourite restaurants in a little cove for lunch with friends.
What is the first restaurant you would like to visit after the lockdown?
Zuma. I love Japanese food!
Does exercise play a key role in your routine and what type are you enjoying the most during lockdown?
I don’t exercise that often but I’d say I’m a very active person. I generally walk a lot each day, I always take the stairs and I love to dance around to music. I also do a “mini workout” a couple of times a week that only takes about 5-10 minutes. It’s basically 10-20 reps of about 10 pilates floor exercises but it’s great for toning.
What do you do to unwind and practice self care?
I love to take myself off to the bathroom and make my cleansing routine into a bit more of a ritual when I want a bit of downtime. I’ll take my time and add in more steps than usual, then use lots of moisturising products. I think the key to healthy looking skin is hydration.
What are you favourite salons and treatments in London?
I love the Sunday Riley facial at Hershesons and I always feel like I’m in safe hands with Renee Lapino. She worked her magic on me before my wedding and my skin was in the best shape ever!
What is your favourite hotel that you have stayed in?
SO many for so many different reasons… Amangiri for the incredible scenery, Cuixmala for a total escape from reality and The Ritz Pariz for pure luxury.
What is your favourite city and why?
London. I just love living here, even at the moment. It feels like home and yet it still feels exciting and special.
What do you do to get a quality nights sleep?
A shower before bedtime, fresh sheets and fresh pyjamas, a good book and then lights out.
What makes you feel your most “well”?
Sunshine. I feel like it really makes me content, relaxed and energised, all at the same time.
What are your 3 favourite products in your makeup bag right now?
Code 8 Seamless Cover is the best concealer I’ve ever used. I love Glossier Brow Flick, and anything (or everything) from Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk collection.
What are your 3 must have skincare products right now?
I just discovered Alpha H Liquid Gold and it’s incredible! Charlotte Tilbury Magic Night Cream is my absolute hero product, and Guerlain Creme de Beaute cleanser is such a nourishing treat.
Do you ever meditate and what role does it play in your life?
I do occasionally and I’ve found it so relaxing and grounding. For me it’s this incredible combination of slowing down and yet being absolutely present and aware of your body that you almost slip into a trance.
What would be your self care mantra or tip to everyone social distancing?
Everything will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright, it’s not the end.
